Welcome to Marlboro Elementary School, Home of the K.I.N.D. Kids, where kids care to learn and learn to care.
Please check our "Quotes of Kindness" on the school sign. Quotes of kindness are made more meaningful with acts of kindness.
You can access our present and past issues of the "Mar El Moments" in the section on the left, "Our School" by selecting the "Mar El Moments" link.
February's Manner of the Month is "Compliments Count, Inside and Out". Not only does this refer to place but also refers to the kind of compliment. An inside compliment could be about an action extended by another such as - "I really like the way you helped me clean up our table." An outside compliment might be about someone's appearance such as - "I really like your new shoes."
Our Words of the Week for February are trustworthy - honest - loyal - and reliable. Our words this month are meant to connect with the outstanding qualities of our United States Presidents, and in particular George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
As principal, I would very much like to compliment our entire school community for your overwhelming generosity in support of some of our recent community service endeavors. They include our school-wide "Help Haiti" coin collection, our food and supplies collection organized by our fifth graders for troops serving with Mar El parent Lt. Colonel Cantor in Afghanistan, and our recent donation by our third grade students of new books to the organization, "180 Turning Lives Around." It is impressive that our community continues to respond so substantially to the needs of others - a true expression of our K.I.N.D. (Kids Involved in Nice Deeds) School.
Celebrated composers and musicians this month that we are listening to as students enter school are the the great jazz tenor saxophonist, Stan Getz, 2/2/1927, and classical composers Felix Mendelssohn, 2/3/1809, George Frideric Handel, 2/23/1685 and Gioacchino Rossini, 2/29/1792.
Our continued thanks to our Fifth Grade Marlboro Elementary School Color Guard, under the supervision of SeƱor Valdez, that formally raises and lowers the American Flag. The Color Guard also leads the entire school in the Pledge of Allegiance every Wednesday.
